Beware of Sugar Daddy Scammers
The Bank Account/Gift Card Scammer - A person who is trying to get you to send him your bank account info so he can launder money. Promises a big allowance before even meeting and speaks in broken English. They wire you money and ask that you buy gifts cards and send them back in return. The wired money is flagged as fraud and you end up having to pay back the bank the funds. Most of these scams originate from Nigeria but also other countries as well.
The Splenda Daddy - A person who pretends to be a sugar daddy but doesn’t really have the money to provide a reasonable allowance. They will meet you for coffee or dinner and then low ball you or try to convince you to have an arrangement with no money involved. They try to build an emotional bond with you so that you forget about an allowance and date them like a normal relationship.
The Scam Artist - A person who impersonates a sugar daddy either online or in person. He promises a big monthly allowance in the beginning and convinces you that he is very rich. He strings you along for a while asking for sexy pics, cam shows, phone calls, etc. and then vanishes without giving you the allowance that was promised. In person, he will try to have sex with you and split before giving you the cash.
